"Let There Be Light" Collection
Our Mission
Beauty amends injustice. The world has redefined beauty and distorted it into unrealistic worldly standards. Scen Lorenzo wants to bring light to the beauty in life that lifts your eyes upward to something that transcends this world.
St. Lorenzo Ruiz, born around 1600 in Manila, Philippines, was the first Filipino saint and martyr, canonized by the Catholic Church in 1987. A devout Catholic of Filipino-Chinese descent, he worked as a calligrapher and clerk for the church before being falsely accused of a crime, prompting him to flee to Japan with Dominican missionaries. In Japan, during a period of intense persecution of Christians, he was arrested, tortured, and executed in 1637 for refusing to renounce his faith. His steadfast courage and devotion made him a symbol of faith and resilience for Filipino Catholics. He is commemorated on September 28.
